Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Judge Calico LLC operates Judge Calico. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with jcalico.com, our Thinkific-hosted course, free previews, purchases, and support. Judge Calico LLC is responsible for the purposes for which we use personal information in operating these services.

You can contact us about privacy through the Contact form on jcalico.com. Select Other and identify your message as a privacy request. This policy describes information practices; accepting our Terms does not by itself provide consent to optional marketing.

2. Information we collect

Account and enrollment information: your name, email address, account identifier, selected course, enrollment and access dates, and account preferences. Free previews require an account even though no credit card is required.

Purchase information: the product and access period purchased, amount, currency, transaction date, payment status, and billing information supplied at checkout. Payments are processed through Thinkific Payments and its payment-processing partner, Stripe. They process the payment and billing information needed to complete your transaction, support applicable tax handling, and address fraud or payment disputes. Do not send card numbers or security codes through our contact form.

Course activity: information recorded by the learning platform, such as lesson access, progress, completion, and responses or results from platform-supported quizzes or surveys. What is recorded depends on the lesson type and enabled features. This does not mean every action inside a custom game or mnemonic lesson is transmitted to us.

Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request times, referring pages, and access or error logs processed in operating and securing the website and course platform. We receive only the information made available to us by our providers and configuration.

Communications and preferences: your name, email address, selected support category, subject, message, and subsequent correspondence, together with any marketing preferences you provide. We use Zoho Desk to receive and manage support tickets and email replies. Ticket records may include submission times, ticket status, and internal notes used to resolve your request. Authorized support users may access these records as needed for their work. Please provide only information needed for your request. Do not submit confidential client information, detailed medical records, or personal legal-case materials.

3. Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you when you register, purchase, change preferences, or contact us. Our hosting, learning-platform, and payment providers also process information when you use their services and make relevant records available to us. Cookies and similar technologies may collect information as described below.

4. How we use information

We use information to create and maintain accounts; provide previews and purchased access; process and reconcile purchases; maintain course progress; answer administrative and technical requests; and send receipts, access information, security notices, and policy updates.

We also use relevant records to diagnose problems, understand use of our services, improve course delivery, investigate unauthorized access or copying, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

If we offer promotional communications, we use your contact details and preferences for that purpose where permitted and obtain consent where required. Signing up for a free preview does not itself require agreement to promotional emails.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We disclose information needed to operate our services to providers performing work for us. Our service providers include Cloudflare for website delivery and security, and Thinkific for course hosting and account administration. We use Thinkific Payments and its processing partner, Stripe, for checkout and payment processing. We use Zoho Desk to receive, organize, store, and respond to contact requests. When you submit our contact form, its contents are sent to Zoho Desk. Replies are sent to the email address you provide; relevant correspondence is retained with your support record.

We may disclose relevant information to professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, respond to lawful process, address fraud or security incidents, or protect rights. If the business is reorganized or transferred, information may be disclosed to parties involved in that transaction, subject to applicable protections.

Provider privacy notices explain their own processing. A provider's independent practices are not a substitute for our responsibility for how we select and use its services.

6. Cookies, storage, and advertising measurement

Our website and course platform may use cookies or similar browser storage to support sign-in, security, preferences, and course functionality. Hosting and security logs may also be processed without cookies.

Thinkific provides operational reporting about activity on its platform. This does not automatically provide tracking for the separately hosted jcalico.com landing page. Our landing page uses locally hosted video. We use Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising conversion measurement, with your permission, to understand whether visits from our ads lead to new account registrations on our Thinkific course site. This can involve cookies, ad-click identifiers, page addresses, referring pages, IP addresses, browser and device information, and the occurrence of a signup. Cross-domain linking can add a measurement parameter to links between jcalico.com and judgecalico.thinkific.com. Our signup event does not include your name, email address, support message, payment details, or lesson answers. Microsoft UET receives website activity and technical information for advertising measurement. Microsoft may also use this information for its own advertising and service-improvement purposes as described in its privacy statement. We have not configured enhanced conversions, Google Analytics, or Microsoft Clarity in this integration.

Use Cookie choices to accept or reject optional advertising measurement or withdraw a previous choice. Our Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising tags remain blocked until you accept. A previous Google-only choice does not authorize Microsoft tracking; we request a new choice for the combined measurement setup. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps this measurement off. We store your choice in your browser for up to 180 days; choices are stored separately on the website and Thinkific course domain. Withdrawal stops future measurement and does not undo information already sent. You can also clear cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary storage may affect sign-in or course functions.

7. Sale, advertising, and marketing choices

We do not sell personal information for money. We use Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising for campaign measurement as described above. Google ad personalization is disabled in this integration. We have not created remarketing audiences in this integration. Microsoft describes its own processing in its Privacy Statement. You can reject this optional measurement through Cookie choices. Google describes its processing in its Privacy Policy and information about sites and apps that use Google services.

If you receive promotional emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message or submit a request through our website Contact form. Unsubscribing does not prevent messages needed to manage your account, deliver a purchase, or address security or legal matters. We retain the information needed to honor your communication preferences.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Relevant factors include whether your account remains active, the access period purchased, unresolved support requests or disputes, recordkeeping obligations, security needs, and applicable limitation periods.

Support tickets and related email correspondence are retained as reasonably needed to resolve requests, maintain relevant service history, address disputes, and meet legal obligations. Copies delivered to an administrative inbox, if enabled, must also be considered when responding to a deletion request. Expiration of paid access does not automatically delete your account or purchase records. You may request deletion through the Contact form. Some information may need to be retained for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-related purposes. Provider backup and deletion cycles may delay removal from backups; retained backup information remains subject to applicable protections.

9. Your privacy requests

Depending on your location and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain uses, or opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. These rights may have exceptions.

Submit requests through the Contact form on jcalico.com. Select Other and identify your message as a privacy request. Provide the email associated with your account and describe your request; do not send your password or full payment information. We may ask for proportionate verification before releasing information or making account changes. Authorized representatives may submit requests where permitted, subject to verification of their authority.

We respond within the time required by applicable law. General support response estimates in our Terms do not extend a statutory privacy deadline. If we deny a request, you may ask us to reconsider through the same form, identifying the message as a Privacy appeal. Where applicable, we will explain the reason and available appeal or complaint options. You may also contact the appropriate privacy regulator or state attorney general. We do not retaliate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

10. Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle and restrict access based on operational needs. No internet service or storage system is completely secure. Use a strong password and notify us through the Contact form if you suspect unauthorized account access.

Our providers may process information internationally. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those safeguards must apply. Visiting our website does not waive protections that apply to your information.

11. Children and younger learners

Our services are designed for law-school and bar-study audiences and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Learners under 18 must meet the parent or guardian requirements in our Terms and applicable platform requirements.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. The updated policy will show its effective date. We will give additional notice or obtain consent when required; a policy update alone does not authorize a new use that requires consent.

For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact form on jcalico.com.
